I hate to admit it, but I’ve been dying to include a Zoolander quote in my blog for some time. It’s definitely one of my guiltiest pleasures, but what’s not to love about a movie that pokes fun at the fashion world in such an absolutely ridiculous way?? Anyways, beyond Zoolander, today I wanted to share with you a nice little recipe to amp up your water. If you are like me, getting in more than two glasses a day is pushing it – water is just so…boring. Here’s a simple recipe I use to ignite a new love for water, check it out:
Ingredients:
- Gallon pitcher of water
- 10 Spearmint or Mint leaves
- Roughly 5 large strawberries, sliced (not diced)
- One lemon, sliced with rind, or several squirts of lemon juice
Simply combine all your ingredients into a pitcher, and voila! Tasty water for those hot summer days.
I’m also a fan of making sun tea, which has been passed down from my dad. What we do is use an emptied plastic container (I get Ocean Spray’s Cranberry juice for breakfast, and generally use those), take four tea bags (English Breakfast for me) and twist the cap over the teabag strings to keep them in place. Then we leave the container out in the sun for a couple of hours until it’s a nice amber color. Stick it in your fridge for a few hours and you have a perfect ice tea brew!
Have a happy hydrated summer!

It’s super good, but doesn’t hold up as long as a citrus fruit, so as long as you don’t mind pieces of it in your water then it’s great

Yum! Love the sun tea idea, I hate bothering with making ice tea, but that’s a pretty passive way of doing it!

I will have to try both of those recipes. Ever since I watched feasting on asphalt and went to Mcdonalds, I’ve been in love with sweet tea. Although, not the healthiest hydration, I took away a very neat trick for making tea taste better. By adding a pinch of baking soda to the tea, it cuts the bitterness of the tea; it also darkens the color too.

In case anyone is a fan too!
