Viva Las Vegas

This last weekend I went to Vegas for my very first time, and let me tell you, it was an experience! For the most part I really enjoyed it. There are some very beautiful sights to see and I loved the shopping. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see any shows, but I plan on seeing O (Cirque du Solei) next time I’m there. I think my top casino/hotels I saw would be the Wynn, the Bellagio, the Palazzo, the Venetian, and Paris. Planet Hollywood was great as an affordable shopping spot and I was in luck to be there during some huge sales (I’ll post outfits in the near future of the stuff I got!). The only down part for me was the shuttle rides between the Rio (where I stayed) and Paris – it was free, but it was filled with the most obnoxious drunks. I promise not to pix spam you, but here are some of my favorite ones I took this trip:

So I was really curious to see how well the food was prepared at Tom’s restaurant. I almost wanted it to be sub-par so that I always knew while he was judging, he wasn’t so great himself. But I have to admit the food was really, really good. A lot of times I get disappointed by expensive restaurants, but this one really lived up to my expectations.

Funny story about this glass sculpture: I kept asking around where the glass structure from Top Chef was located. I had a feeling it was in the Bellagio, but everyone I asked didn’t know what I was talking about (and thought I was somewhat crazy, lol!). I felt better when I finally found it!

All in all it was a great trip. I had put off going to Vegas for the longest time; I’m not a big party-er and I thought that’s all there was to it. I didn’t realize how many awesome things there are to see, and I really did enjoy it (but I’d probably never take my kids there). I am happy to be home though, and I missed Oliver (it’s sad how attached I’ve gotten to him already)!

I took some video of the Bellagio Water Show from the top of the Eiffel Tower in the Paris Hotel. It was the perfect song to end a long day.

Got any Vegas stories you’d like to share? What’s your favorite thing to see/do there? What hotel is your favorite to stay in? Enjoy!
