Yesterday I went in search for organic, locally made honey. There’s a lovely farmer’s market every Tuesday in downtown Concord where you can find locally grown produce, plants, and delicious food (try the Al Pastor if you get a chance – the best lamb I’ve ever had!). It was such a beautiful day that I made my way out there to eat some lunch and found the glorious (overstatement, I think not!) honey I was looking for. I choose the wildflower variation, which was the darkest and richest of the choices. Here are a few pictures of my adventure + my look of the day:

Organic produce may not look as "perfect" as it's supermarket counterpart, but it actually tastes like the veggie it's suppose to.

Outfit of the day: lace tee, white cami, printed silk scarf and denim high waisted skirt from UO. Free people gold flats. Forever21 yellow skinny belt.
Do you try and visit local farmer markets? Where do you turn to to get the best produce? Does my look translate well for a sunny day in the park? Let me know!

Where in Concord is this?
And i have to say, I’m a bit suprised about how ADDICTED to your site I’ve become. I’m not much of a fashionista but your advice/articles are so practical and super cute! I love your work. So congratulations Maria, I’m hooked and soon so will the world!

It’s in Todo Santos park by the Brenden Theater. Thanks for the encouragement Melissa, you have always been someone who builds people up rather than tears them down – that means so much to me!

I’m so glad you found the Honey guys I was telling you about, my mom always stops by them to chat it up about honey in spanish (she’s crazy) but isn’t cool how they have the bee’s there with them! I love the Todos Santos farmers market and in May they will be doing it on Thursdays from like 4 or 5pm-8pm which is nice to go after work!

Yes! Hahaha I can picture your mom doing that. I’m so happy they will be doing it later in the day after work, that’ll be great.

have u heard that if u buy local honey it may help with alergies? it has to be local because it would be the local pathogens and pollen in the area that we get the bees kinda make i guess an organic temporary fix worth a try!

You look so cute! I bet those honey dudes were trying to get all up in that high-waisted skirt. I love farmer’s markets. Ours doesn’t start until May.

Hahaha! At least they didn’t start speaking to me in Spanish…that always happens and it’s always awkward to be like…uhhh I’m not Hispanic, sorry!

Just found your site today and it’s so fun! I love my local farmers markets…yup, that’s multiple. There’s one 2 blocks from my apt in Davis (Weds and Sat) and one on either side of my building at work (Tues and Weds) in Sacramento. The Davis one is year-round so we go pretty often, but I can’t wait for the ones by work to start up soon. Nothing’s better than walking down for a fresh fruity snack in the middle of the workday.

Thank you! I actually went to Davis for the first two years of college, and that’s where I first fell in love with farmer’s markets (have you tried the Baklava there? It’s amazing!). Do you go to the Harvest Festival? So much fun!
