Yesterday I explored the Martinez Marina (only 5 minutes from my home) for the first time. I had no idea such a beautiful place was so close! Docked sailboats, fishermen, mossy trees…it was like I was in another state all-together! My friend and photographer Kanoa (check out his blog!) came along and shot some of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen. He absolutely captured the marina and my nautical inspired outfit perfectly. Check it out:
What I’m wearing: crinkle linen shorts from H&M; striped puff sleeve shirt from H&M; striped fabric belt from H&M; de Blossom wedges from DB shoes; light blue and gold bracelet from Anthropologie
When I put this outfit together, I had in mind a fisherman in his sackcloth overalls and striped shirt, but translated into a feminine-chic way of course lol. Crinkle shorts might not be for everyone, but I think it added the right touch of rustic I was going for. I also love the pop of color my necklace added, and it’s knotted design felt perfect for a nautical theme.
Have you recently discovered places close to where you live that amazed you? How do you like Kanoa’s images? Let me know!

Hey girl, I’m down hahaha! H&M is funny, either they go through new pieces really quickly or you can find stuff months later still there! Thanks for the kind words!

You are so glam here! I think if you sepia-d these photos they’d totally pass as being vintage.

For the pictures that are not at my house, Kanoa Utler (I linked to his blog up top) takes them. Otherwise it’s my husband and I edit, lol!
