I am on a skirt fix. If it weren’t so darn cold (I admit, coldness is one thing that I allow to detract from my style), I’d wear them more often. Since today provided a hint of sun, I decided to pull out one of my recent purchases: this beautiful, printed skirt from Urban Outfitters. Paired with a bright fuchsia tee, a faded pink cardigan, and some opaque black tights and patent pumps, this is an easy and cool weather friendly outfit. I absolutely love the print on this skirt. It reminds me of a Japanese kimono with its petals and banded waist. You can’t see it too well in this picture, but the beige part is actually embroidered with a shiny print in itself.
As you may have read in my Guide to Spring 2010 (!!), prints like these are huge this spring. I used to shy away from prints because I thought they were either too flashy or a bit risky, but as you can see with this outfit they can be really easy to pull off when anchored with solids and neutrals. They also give added interest to an otherwise really basic look.
What prints are you loving right now (animal, tribal, geometric, etc.)? How do you usually wear them? Enjoy!

PS: Jony and I finally gave Oliver a haircut! It’s a bit wonky, but at least now he can see lol! Also pardon me looking a bit pale and stiff, I haven’t been feeling too well lately, ugh.

Hi Maria
Sorry I haven’t stopped by to comment recently – I’ve still been reading and enjoying and just found a quick moment to say OMG you are gorgeous as ever! I love your style girl, you pair things in a way that is so unique and beautiful. Your pink top / cardigan go lovely with the shade of lipstick that you are wearing as well.
Muah! Take care and will be back soon.
