I love Alice in Wonderland…such a wonderful combination of dark and childish imagery in one story. I also love the whole culture that has been created around it, from MarcyPlayground’s inspired lyrics to spin-offs of Mad Hatter and Alice love stories. But what I enjoy the most is the fashion – that old English charm with lace and florals, bows, top hats and tweed. On Saturday my photographer friend Kanoa Utler (check out his blog here) took me out to shoot some pictures for my blog. I channeled Alice and chose some pieces that are perfect for spring: a high waisted floral skirt, a puff sleeve with lace detailed top, and some grey ankle socks all from H&M for under $45, paired with Jeffrey Campbell leather oxfords.

Try pairing heels with socks that hit right below the calf. Thin cotton socks work best for this look. I chose dark grey because it blended better with my heels rather than a white sock (which was too stark for my taste and made my legs look stubby).

Accessories detail shot - no Alice outfit is complete without a watch! I love the way this one wraps around my wrist several times for added interest.
I’m loving this ultra feminine outfit for Spring. Enjoy!
Are you a fan of this Alice inspired look? How are you feeling the puff sleeve look? Knee highs or above the ankle socks? Let me know!

Am I a fan of this Alice inspired look?! Yes, yes, yes! I absolutely love the femininity of it. I’m not usually a fan of puff sleeves; but the aesthetic definitely works in this situation – so gorgeous! Though I might have preferred white knee-high socks over the charcoal ankle socks.

Thanks Eric! Let me tell you it wasn’t easy hiking up muddy hills in heels and avoiding getting hit by trains…all in the name of fashion

I LOVE that skirt! And a watch that wraps more than once is amazing. I always have my phone so I never wear a watch, although I love the way they look on other people. The scenery in your photos is amazing as well!

I love this outfit, it’s beautiful!! I wish I could see your shirt better though. As usual, Kanoa’s shots are brilliant! I am very much in love with this look and anything Alice inspired.
I also can’t get enough of shoes with socks, but I’m the one bold enough to wear white socks even though I agree, it makes legs look stubby! Your post has inspired me to get some black and grey ones though

You are the fortunate girl who is tall enough that stubby leg syndrome will never occur!
The shirt has a scoop neck and is a basic light-weight cotton, very comfy for warmer weather.
