For awhile my husband has been wanting to have dinner parties so that instead of just watching a movie and hanging out around the house, we can sit down and have deeper conversations with our friends (he’s pretty much the best guy in the world hahaha). I finally suggested it to our friends and we’ve started a sort of “Supper Club” – once a month one couple hosts a dinner, and one couple “hosts” a restaurant outing. Saturday night was our first go at it, and our friends Stuart and Cassie took four of us out to Lift, a trendy little lounge in Walnut Creek.
I really enjoyed our outing, there’s nothing like being around three married couples that really gets the conversations out of control! I ordered their spicy quesadilla which was really good. I was bummed I ended up not trying one of the seven different sliders (an amazing 2 for $5 deal), but I did get a piece of Cassie’s bacon, mmmm. Despite the old mainstream hip hop hits playing in the background (it brought me back to my high school dances like nothing else), it was a great night that ended with a round of 90s rock karaoke.
Here are some pictures of our experience, enjoy!

I went with a classy retro feel with this BCBG dress I got on sale in Vegas. I love the random ruching on the sides.
How do you usually spend time with friends? Do you have any special traditions? And does anyone else love karaoke as much as I do? Let me know!
PS – If you would like to participate in the link exchange I talked about yesterday, please email me at Maria@BachmansSparrow.com and I will email you back with more information!

LOVE the dress! I love that it’s sexy without being revealing, and that makes it work in so many more situations.
We usually do the quick lunch-after-church or potluck dinner with our friends. We do have some annual traditions (holidays that are hosted by a certain person or couple), but nothing more regular than that. Would love to start something though–you’ve given me some good ideas.

You look great in that dress doll! Sounds like a great tradition. We go out with our friends for dinner as much as possible! For me, it’s another excuse to get dressed up! xoxo

Thanks girl. I wish we all went out more to nicer places (usually we just head to Chili’s after church hahaha) because I love the opportunity to dress up as well!

The dress is super amazing I love the blue against your darker hair color! What a cute idea for you and your married friends
Traditions yes I’ve got a few but one of my favorites is with some of my girlfriends we have this thing about old musicals (we love them) we will get together and watch some old frank sinatra or bing crosby musicals usually with our favorite Salsa Con Queso! One of my best friends Mindy and I need to start a karaoke tradition since we sing and dance way too much together, I guess i’ll ask for a karaoke machine for mothers day LOL!

You should! It really is a great way to get to know each other better too (the oddest conversations come out when you’re all seated at a dinner table hahaha).

LOVE that dress. Next time I’d wear some edgier shoes just because the dress covers a lot. You could get away with something sexier on your feet. (I do love the Maddens – I have that pair – but they are too ‘cute’ for nighttime in most cases I feel like.)
Plans are different with each friend. I have one who I always end up drinking with and we usually eat in a bar or a bistro with drinks. With another we always end up at restaurants (versus bars), and another friend and I almost always get Dutch Brothers coffee but end up making dinner and sometimes drinking wine at home. And the husband and I are total homebodies. We do movies or sushi, but otherwise get takeout!

It’s like you read my mind! I ended up wearing those Pour la Victoires with the chains on them hahaha. Jony and I usually just stay home as well, esp. now that we have Netflix haha!
