Today’s Friday favorite features Sephora’s Ultimate Blockbuster makeup palette. I got this giant palette for Christmas, and I’m in love with all of the colorful eyeshadows, eyeliners, lip-liners, lip glosses, and blushes. I feel like a child with too many toy options, and I couldn’t be happier!
While Sephora palettes tend to get a bad rep for having weak color pigmentation (my previous palette from them sticks true to this), I decided it was worth trying out their newest version. I have to say I am pleased with what they stocked this box full with from a non-professional point of view. I’ve decided to put together five trendy looks to show you the range of this set:

“Sunny Days” – I used the palette’s golden shade eyeshadow for my lids, brown cream eyeliner, and the orange-rust shade blended into my crease. I paired this with their blood orange lipgloss and lighter shade of blush, resulting in a sun-kissed, summer-y look.
“Smokey Eye” – The great thing about this palette is it’s many different shades within one color scheme. They have more than five different shades of black, which I paired together to create this smokey eye. I finished the lid off with glittery black and lined it with their black cream eyeliner, perfect for a night out (see larger view for details). I picked a basic pink lipgloss to go with such a strong eye.
“Fresh Pink Face” – For this look I chose their nude colored eyeshadow for my lids, their dark brown cream eyeliner, and a slightly darker mocha for my creases. I picked a more vibrant pink lipgloss, and used their red lipliner to slightly exaggerate my cupids bow. I used their bronzer to add a little color to my face, as well as their medium shade blush.
“She’s a Vampire” – I thought I’d give a go at a dark, dark, blood red lip, a sophisticated gothic look. Here I chose their reddest lipgloss, and mixed it with their black cream eyeliner. This resulted in a plum like color that was actually kind of fun! Not sure if I’m brave enough to walk around like this, but I can definitely see me using this look for vintage photoshoots.
“Blue Moon” – Finally I wanted to show you an example of their pigment strength by doing a blue look. I used their tiffany blue shade for my lids, and a darker, teal blue for my crease. I paired this with their dark blue cream eyeliner, and a light, bubbly pink lipgloss.
I would say my two main complaints about this set would be that although there are many lipglosses, most of them are very close in color. They only have one red lipgloss and it’s more of a bright red rather than sultry. The second issue is the eyeshadows seem to have a strange smell, which concerns me a little. Besides that though I really do love this set and I will be using this as my main source of makeup for a good long while!
Which look do you like the best? Have any other questions about this product? Let me know!
~Maria
PS – I wore all of these looks on a base of Bare Minerals foundation, LashBlast Length Mascara, and CO Bigelow lipshine.

I love the variety of looks you chose! “Blue moon” is my favorite – that color looks great on you! How does this set do on their toxicity levels? Keep it up!

Thanks Lacretia! I love that blue look too. Sephora brand tends to fall in the mid-range level of toxicity (not too great, but not horrible). Their eyeshadows and glosses tend to be okay, but try and avoid any of their cleansers, they get very high ratings.

Love the colors! I especially like the Smoky Eyes and vampire look. I’d love to see a tutorial on how to properly apply eye shadow because it always looks “blah” when I do it. hahaha :]

I am by no means an expert, but I can definitely put together a video on how I do it myself!
