No, I’m not talking about the World Cup (although it appears everyone on Facebook and Twitter are). I’m talking about my thrift store scores from a few days ago! While it certainly has been interesting experiencing the soccer (excuse me, futbol) craze, learning about countries I have never heard of before, and rooting on the USA and Japan, making incredible thrift finds are what really does it for me.

Lately I’ve been noticing a lack of beyond basic tops in my closet. Apparently I’ve been purchasing everything BUT shirts, so I made it a mission to seek out some pretty ones on my latest thrifting adventure. I think I really came out on “top”. Check it out:

From left to right: Diane von Furstenburg, Banana Republic, Charlotte Ronson, Ambiance, N/A

My main objective was to find prints - they are so much more fun than solids right now!

Absolutely adore the pattern on this top - it has a pretty Asian feel to it, delicate and feminine.

My favorite piece: a kimono inspired top that will be perfect for warm summer nights

I didn’t realize until later that I was mostly drawn to pinks and reds on this spree. I think it has to do with the fact that I rarely wear these colors as it is – I’m usually drawn to yellows, greens, and purples. It felt good to push away from my comfort zone and try something new.

I also was blown away by the fact that I bought five designer tops, and only spent $150 total. While that’s still $30 per shirt, that’s an AMAZING deal for high end pieces. So there you have it ladies, you don’t have to forgo your designer taste to be budget friendly! (And not to mention totally on key with green living as well).

Stay tuned to see how I put together outfits around these pretty pieces!

What has been your favorite thrift find? Are you comfortable with wearing second hand pieces? Let me know!
