Friday Favorites: Covergirl LashBlast Length

My eyes are probably my favorite facial feature, and I try to play them up as much as possible. Needless to say, I have tried numerous mascaras to find the perfect combination of a precise brush and non-chalky formula to lengthen my stubby eyelashes. From high to low end brands, my results tended to be less than desirable. If it wasn’t a clumpy mess or wonky spider legs of lashes, I would usually find myself with short-lived or gooey disasters. So when Covergirl came out with their new mascara, LashBlast Length, I figured why not try it out?

I have to say I was fairly pleased with this mascara. What’s so great about it is it’s tiny nylon bristles that really gets to the base of your lashes and separates them as you sweep the brush upwards. Thicker brushed mascaras promise volume, but really all they are doing is coating your eyelashes with more product causing them to clump together. With LB Length, you get both volume and individual lash attention. Here are my results:

Eyelashes without mascara

Eyelashes with one layer of mascara

Eyelashes with multiple layers of mascara

Eyelashes with multiple layers of mascara

This mascara is very build-able, which means that you can apply multiple layers without it getting clumpy and gross. I recommend sweeping on at least a few layers to get desired results. The only negative aspect of this mascara is it does produce fairy thin lashes, and it does not have the lowest hazard rating out there. Besides these issues, I would say LB length is a drugstore brand that gets the job done!

*My previous favorite mascara was L’Oreal’s Volume Shocking 2-Step Volume Construction Mascara. Unfortunately L’Oreal has many animal testing issues which made me decide to search out better brands. I have not heard of similar issues with Covergirl.*
