In honor of me finally receiving my swimsuit in the mail (and hopes of getting a good helping of sun this weekend), I wanted to share with you guys some of my favorite sunblocks! I’m one of those people who verge on paranoia when it comes to protecting my skin (for example, I tend to pile on SPF 55 over my already SPF 15 moisturizer, then follow up with SPF infused powder). I’ve already developed some sunspots from childhood, and I combat wrinkles with a passion (especially since I’m the type who smiles REALLY BIG so I’m already seeing some lines there lol). Anyways, here’s a quick list of my go-to sunblocks, enjoy!

First up, Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Cream SPF 50; $36:

The best block: Shiseido

The best block: Shiseido

Of course the Japanese girl would put Shiseido first ;) . Actually, I love this stuff because it has a really thick, creamy texture that moisturizes and creates a great defense against the sun. It has anti-aging ingredients that protects against the sun’s harmful rays. It’s so good in fact that many times when I sunbathe I feel like my skin tone hasn’t changed because it has done it’s job so well. On top of it all, it has a really clean, fresh smell that is very pleasing.

Earth’s Best Sunblock, SPF 30; $13.56:

The Healthiest Choice - Earth's Best

I haven’t tried this product yet personally, but have heard a lot of great things about it. If you are looking for a decent sunblock that is also organic, Earth’s Best has definitely been top ranked. Chemical and fragrant free, it’s targeted for children but great for adults as well. You can find it at Whole Foods or online.

Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock SPF 55. $9:

Drugstore Pick: Neutrogena

I love this stuff – it’s affordable, it doesn’t leave you feeling sticky, and it stays on very well. Like the Shiseido, it has a pleasant clean smell, and it applies so smoothly you almost forget you have any on. This is my top pick for if you are planning to wear makeup or do something beyond playing in the sun.

Take those extra 10 minutes to protect your skin ladies and gentlemen – unfortunately I know several people who have suffered with/passed away from skin cancer. Why play roulette with the sun?

What are you sunblock go-tos? How do you protect your skin? Let me know!
