“Come in” she said “I’ll give you shelter from the storm”

California has finally seen some sunshine and I’ve got Bob Dylan on my mind. When I put this outfit together I imagined kicking my heels up in some pretty field with flowers in my hair (I blame my hippie tendencies on my parents’ raising me on Fleetwood Mac and Simon and Garfunkel, lol). I’m really digging the one-shoulder look with a full skirt, and the color combination reminds me of candies. I threw in my Pour la Victoires (love that chain detail) to edge up an otherwise very sweet look and to keep it modern.

What I’m Wearing: UO tied-shoulder in eggplant and striped dress worn as a skirt (both from at least a year ago); H&M elastic belt; Pour la Victoire chain detailed heels; orange ribbon from Joann Fabric

During warm weather I tend to ditch most of my accessories, but try to wear at least one statement piece that makes up for it. In this case, my shoes double for me as great heels and a form of “jewelry”. I love the sweetheart neckline on the off-the-shoulder top, and the way the strap crosses at an angle – much more interesting and it mimics the stripes on my dress.

What do you think of my look? What are your go-to pieces for warm weather? Let me know!
