I love switching up my look. Some may call it an addiction, but I just can’t justify going through life with the same ol’ style day in and day out. Andrea (my hair dresser and one of my closest friends) worked her magic again, slimming down and giving shape to my overgrown mop. You’d think there’d be a conflict of interest between hair dresser and close friend, but 1. She’s amazing and I trust her with my hair, and 2. She’s not one of those hair dressers who if you want to make a change at the end of the session, bites your head off and acts like you’re an inconvenience. She truly takes care of her clients and prefers their happiness over her vision, without letting you leave like a hot mess (cue fashion mullet extravaganza).
At the end of the afternoon, I’m left with healthy, happy, and totally stylish hair! Ange took off about 3″ of length, added a ton of layers to my jawline, and thinned out a lot of the weight. I absolutely adore it – it feels much more sophisticated and grown up than most of the styles I’ve had lately. And you know what, at 23 I feel like it’s time to start putting a toe into the “grown up” world. Even with my clothes I’ve noticed a turn towards more classic pieces, like this Diane Von Furstenberg printed blouse and rolled hemmed jeans.
Outfit details:
How often do you change up your look? What type of “procedures” do you go through during these makeovers? And how do you dig the new do? Let me know!

Loving this new haircut!
Lately, I have been really wanting to play around with dye – like dying the ends of my hair turquoise once it grows out a bit again. We shall see…

Thanks Shauna! I think that would look beautiful on you, I wouldn’t mind a little purple in mine personally

I keep thinking my hair wasn’t really that long to begin with, but you’re probably right!

You look fantastic! Would it be totally creepy if I printed out your photo and took it to my hair dresser to show her how I want my bangs? Hahaha.

Love the hair! I’m not a stylist type of girl (I usually cut myself or go to Great Clips), but I try to mix it up every few months. I did go to my friend Kelli, a stylist, in January, though, so I’m trying to wait as long as possible before my next cut (hey, that was good money!). Now you’ve got me jonesing for a new ‘do, though…I’m wayyyy overdue for something.

Wow I’m impressed, I get too nervous to even cut my own bangs! It feels great changing it up, you would look great with your hair pretty short

It always amazes me that so many variations exist on the same length-cut! Your take is gorgeous on you
The piece-y…well, pieces, are quite stunning. And that cardigan is quite lust-worthy. Nice mix of bright colors and prints!
Also, can I just say that I love the way you collaged your photos at the top? What a classy way to show multiple views without bombarding the post with 50 repeats of the same outfit!

Right?! I wanted something more edgier, and she delivered! And thank you, I’m trying to make my blog more streamlined hahaha.

Love the hair cut! It looks so stylish and sophisticated! I love your outfit, too. Those DIY shoes came out great.
I’m really in the mood to cut off my hair…I’m a short hair girl (I feel more myself that way) but I’ve had shoulder length hair for a year or so now. I really want a cute bob haircut.

I think I will ask for this cut in a few weeks. love it on you. I wish I could change my hair easier.. I seem to stray back to my favorite length and style for the last year or so. I went short and started growing it out as soon as I did. I love edgy… we just need more long edgy styles out there. right now a slightly off middle part with long layers and a bit of curl is my look.
