Has your wardrobe come to this?!

Hello babycakes, it’s time for another installment of my Saturday Advice “column.” I think the opinionated side of me is really excited with this new venture! While I do want to delve into more topics beyond fashion eventually, another style tip is just dying to escape. So, this week I want to tackle the topic of how to demolish those days of feeling frumpy and boring. We all have those moments of caving in and throwing a sweatshirt over an ugly top, pulling on a pair of ill fitting jeans (or sweats, *gasp!*), and calling it a day. Whether it’s because you have run out of time to get ready, simply can’t think of an outfit to put together, or have a million other things that are consuming your attention, it just happens. Here’s my advice to you on how not to fall into the trap of a “bad outfit” day:

Always have a standby outfit on hand.

That’s right, I’m telling you to set aside a whole outfit that when push comes to shove you can pull on in a minute’s notice. Whenever you have free time, put together a mini “kit” of all the things you would need for your basic, yet well-put together outfit: undergarments, a pair of dark wash jeans, a simple, printed, cotton shirt, and a sweet little cardigan or jacket for example. Set it aside in your closet so that it doesn’t get mixed in with the rest of your weekly used clothes. Update it according to season, and remake it when those rushed moments cause you to utilize it. Now you have no excuse for looking sloppy!

Has everyday become a “bad outfit” day (I know it’s hard especially for the mamas out there)? Put together outfits at night or create a few days worths of looks when you have a breather. Don’t make it too complicated: stick with your basics and accessorize with jewelry, scarves, hair decor, and bags to change it up.
