Tonight I will be going to see one of my all time favorite bands. I remember when I was younger and would watch the MTV morning music video’s before school, this really bizarre music video came on:
From that point on I was hooked on Muse. I like their smart lyrics, their 1984 allusions, and their amazing musical talent. They are perhaps my favorite live band of all time, and I’ve seen quite a few. I think it has to do with their pure talent and Matthew Bellamy’s stage presence (busting out a classical music piece on the piano in the middle of a concert? Love.). Needless to say, I’m excited! This will be the first time seeing them in concert after the release of their newest album.
I was planning on posting a picture of my outfit, but I’ll have to add it in later today. When I was younger I used to worry so much about what I wore to concerts…whether or not I’d fit in or stand out like the giant nerd I am. I’m happy to say I finally got over that, lol, and now practicality is my main concern (toes protected, clothes I don’t mind getting “stains” on, and absolutely NO skirts or dresses – there are some super skeezy guys ladies!). Unless it’s some super nice sit down occasion, jeans, a tee, and some comfortable shoes are all I’m looking for. Do you have any go-to concert clothes?
Here are a few Muse songs for you to enjoy:
Perhaps they aren’t your cup of tea, but I enjoy listening to them. Silversun Pickups will be opening at the Oracle Arena at 8pm. I’ll let you guys know how it went tomorrow!
Do you have any upcoming concerts you’re excited about? Who is your favorite live band? Let me know!

My concert clothes are a t-shirt… jeans (with a belt for jumping that is) and the classic converses. Not cute. Nothing nice. Just clothes. Oh, and hair up and out of the face (french braid recommended) so you can jump and sweat comfortably haha.

I’m so jealous! I love Muse but I’ve never made it to one of their concerts. When I was younger I used to always make such an effort when going to see bands, it was all part of the ’scene’. Now I just wear something comfortable and casual.
Hope you enjoy yourself!

I’d love that! we could call it a “business lunch”. I admire your blog a lot, I was telling a friend of mine about it last night and how I think you offer something different than the sort of standard fashion blog. What city do you live in now? I’m in Oakland but I’m in Berkeley every day, and my parents are in Albany so I’m there a lot too. xox caitlin

That is such an encouraging comment Caitlin, thank you! I’m in Martinez currently, so Berkeley would be super easy to do. We should plan something!

I love Muse!! Great post! I usually opt for jeans and this crazy embellished/embroidered/beaded Miss Sixty tank top. It looks dressy with minimal effort.
Thanks for stopping by and commenting!

Me too! Their bass player is amazing, and I love the guy’s vocals. Unfortunately they started on time and we got there a bit late, so we only got to see them play for a little. Arctic Monkeys would be great live I bet.

Ohmigosh I adore MUSE. You are so incredibly lucky to see them live, Maria! Whenever I go to outdoor concerts in the daytime – like Coachella – I wear rompers with riding boots or cutoff denim shorts. But when they’re evening concerts I always wear leggings and tunics.
Oh, have a fabulous time, my love! I can’t wait to find out what you decided to wear!!

I’ve always wanted to go to Coachella! All-day concerts I usually pack a backpack of extra clothes, I’m an over-prepared dork hahaha. It was SO much fun! I ended up just wearing a black wingsleeved tunic, dark skinny jeans, and my minnetonka booties.
