Over the past few years I have had a falling out with nail polish. I decided that it took too much time and effort to paint my nails just to have them chip on me within a matter of hours. Not to mention every time I invested in a bottle of polish it ended up not looking anything like the intended color, or it was way to sheer for my taste. I neglected my nails, letting them become dull and boring and no longer a fashion statement but just another body part.
That is until I started seeing all the beautiful nail polish ads in my magazines. I’m probably just behind on the times, but the shades of nail polish available today are WAY more sophisticated, trendy, and chic than I remember. You can practically find any color imaginable now in mattes or glosses. It finally occurred to me that nail polishes in themselves are amazing ways to accessories a basic outfit (see the picture above!).
Thanks to Alia (@1TruPolishFreak) who recommended me trying out China Glaze (a more affordable, but just as good imo version of OPI), I went to Sally Beauty Supply store and picked out some of what I consider the hottest shades for spring:
I plan on returning to Sally’s and picking up a minty color and a periwinkle shade as advised by @1TruPolishFreak. This polish applies very nicely (I only really needed one coat!), and has barely chipped over 4 days. So spice up your outfits with some fun colors on your nails!
What is your favorite brand of nail polish? Color? Do you take the time to do your own nails, or get them done at the salon? Let me know!

I go through phases of painting my nails loving it one moment then loathing it the next. My favorite brand of choice lately has been the Sally Hansen salon collection. It is relatively cheap at Target and the quick dry 10-day topcoat (square purple tinted bottle) is amazing. I also recently bought a bottle of the Fairy Teal which I am loving for Springtime.

Thanks again for the shout out girl! You know I love this post!! Like the reader above mentioned, For Audrey is to die for, I’m actually wearing it today and whenever I wear it, I stare at it all day!!
Glad I played a part in convincing you to rediscover your love for nail polish
…Another inexpensive brand you should check out are Essence polishes, its a very popular U.K. brand now available in the states in Ulta stores and online ulta.com. The colors are very fun and they are only 99cents!! (They wear pretty nicely to be so cheap too!)

I like the Sally Hansen “Diamond Strength no chip nail color”. It dries quickly, stays on for weeks and hardly ever chips! I bought two colors from that line, my favorite being “Sunrise, Sunset” a sparkly orange color which is great for the summer. It’s on my toes right now!
I also like Rimmel’s “60 seconds” (doesn’t dry in exactly 60 seconds, more like 2 minutes) I have it in 819, Green with Envy, which is a metallic blue-green. I love it!
I can’t be bothered to do my nails if the polish takes any longer than 5 minutes to dry.
