The fourth and final installment of this series focuses on the ever touchy subject of age. Now don’t get me wrong, I am totally against the idea that as you age, your wardrobe must get more practical and professional (Victoria Beckham anyone?). But, there comes a time when certain things must be given up and left behind in youth. The follow are a few examples of things you should avoid as you enter your twenties and beyond:

1. Childish Appliques

2. Stripes + Skulls + Pink Knee highs

There are good knee highs, and there are these.

3. Colorful, plastic jewelry

I can understand the desire to have whimsical elements in your outfit, but there are much more sophisticated and tasteful ways to do this. Crystal brooches in the forms of owls, octopi, bees, etc. are subtly playful. Knee highs in neutral colors can come in an array of patterns without being vulgar. And as for that jewelry, I can’t even begin with how to fix that, just stay away from it!
