A braided crown for your head

I always feel like I look ridiculous with braided hair, but because it’s so popular right now I push myself to wear them from time to time. I mean, I can understand their lure: they’re functional, they stay put, and they look whimsical as all heck. So for today’s hairstyling quickie, I revamped my side braid look into a double braided bun – I guess you could call it my take on a barmaid look. No need for styling tools or products, just a hair tie, bobby pins and some nimble fingers can get you this look in two minutes! (Bonus: this look is also particularly useful when you are running around all day, it doesn’t budge!).

Simply French braid two braids around the crown of your head, and tie into a loose bun secured with pins. That’s it!

I paired this hairstyle with a totally easy-chic look; basically coupling a sweater with shorts is a winning situation in my book. Add a belt for contrast, a pair of sandals, and an elegant bracelet and necklace and you’ve got a great look using only six pieces!

I’m pretty pleased that I finally got some sun on the 4th of July. Now I don’t feel so worried that I’ll blind you all whenever I wear shorts (hence the detail shot on my legs Lol!). It was nice relaxing by the pool with some friends, although I have to admit you could say I burned into a tan rather than just getting a little sun (oops!). Now if only I could keep up with my pedicures…
