Interviews are back up and rearing to go, so let’s jump right in to my latest edition with Suzy from Beneath the Glass. A mom-to-be for a second time, Suzy shows how to be sophisticated and trendy with her baby bump and all! Her outfit posts are lovely, her editorials are spot on, and with an increase of DIY ideas, I’m in love! Check out the interview below:

MV: First things first: give us the Suzy low-down! How old are you, where are you from, favorite band, food, and pass time?
BTG: I’m 27 but people think i’m 16-20. Born in South Korea, but adopted and raised between California and Montana. No fave band, listen to literally everything under the sun. Fave food is Korean, shrimp, pasta (especially spaghetti), anything with garlic, and gummy bears. Weird, I know. I mainly pass the time by reading (any kind of book except romance). I also love gambling (the Asian in me!), shopping of course, traveling, museums, art, tattoos, vintage and antique stores, and hanging out with my son and husband (and soon to be little girl!)
MV: I’m so excited to see your baby! I totally feel you on the age thing too. So tell us a bit about your blogging experience, when you began, goals, etc.
BTG: I started blogging the beginning of this year. I was inspired by other bloggers, and I needed a new hobby. I live in a little town where fashion is pretty much nonexistent, so I wanted to connect with other people who shared the same passion as me.
As for goals, not much. I’d love to get more readers and meet new people, but mainly I do it for fun. I don’t have many expectations. If I become famous for blogging, great, but realistically I don’t expect that and I do it for fun. I post as often as I can, but I do work at home as well, so that comes first. I usually post several times a week though. As for my occupation, my husband and I own a motorcycle business we started five years ago. I do everything from building/designing and running our website, to paperwork, legal work, shipping, helping customers, etc. And yes, I’ve even worked on a few motorcycles as well. I’m not as girly as I appear all the time, lol. I can get pretty dirty and greasy.
MV: Wow, I have to say I’m pretty impressed. That must be a fun way to make a living! So far, what has been your favorite blogging experience?
BTG: I don’t know that I really have a specific favorite experience per se, but my favorite part of blogging has been meeting some new people who I consider friends. What gives me the most pleasure when blogging is when a new person follows my blog because they truly enjoy it, not just to get a new follower, and when that new person can become a friend, as opposed to just a faceless being.
MV: Connecting with readers is definitely a bonus. I’ll admit some of my favorite people are ones I’ve met through blogging. Moving on, what can people expect to find at your blog? What do you tend to focus on?
BTG: Well mostly people can expect to find my outfit posts- when I don’t have time or didn’t wear something stylish I’ll also post editorials I like, things I’m lusting after (shoes, bags, etc.) or even personal insights or ramblings. Lately, I’ve been into DIY’s, so when I get the chance I plan on posting more of those. And I’ve also sneaked a few lines here and there about my pregnancy, although the blog itself is not primarily a maternity blog. I like to throw in some personal things here and there, because I feel like readers can connect better with someone who is upfront about those things.
MV: Very good point, which leads me to the last question, what is one tip you have for bloggers?
BTG: BE PATIENT! This is coming from the most impatient person in the world, but when it comes to blogging, I’ve learned that you have to have patience. It might take awhile to get readers, but when you do, it encourages you to keep going. It might be slow, but if you only get a handful of loyal followers, it still feels good to know that people are interested in you. And also, (in my opinion), be humble. Not everyone can afford Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, etc. While I love when I get to see someone’s purchases, etc, it annoys me when they’re like flaunting it, rather than sharing the item with me.
