A quick and super easy DIY for all my fellow book lovers

I don’t know about you guys, but after a weekend of parties and barbeque’s, I am WIPED! That’s why I absolutely love this week’s DIY project. It is incredibly easy, but has the cutest results! All you need are scraps of fabric or ribbon, leftover buttons, charms, or beads, and a needle and thread (or fabric glue) to make unique bookmarks. Make a few for yourself to mark your place in various good reads, or create a personalized gift for a good friend. When I was little, my sister made one of these sweet creations and kept it for years and years, holding her place in textbooks, novels, and the occasional Martha Stewart Magazine (I got my obsession from her lol). Today I created my own quick tutorial for you all to follow, enjoy!

What you will need:

Scrap fabric or ribbon, buttons, a needle and thread.

Step One:

Cut out a strip of ribbon or fabric at approximately 7″ in length. Cut two points into the end of the fabric, and seal both ends using either a fray-stopper like this or clear nail polish.

Step Two:

Sew on buttons, beads, or charms to the non-pointed end of the strip using basic stitches. You can personalize the bookmark using letter charms, fabric pens (to write on favorite quotes), etc.

Just a few simple steps to create this:

Is this a craft you think you would tackle? Have any other simple ideas that we can try? Let me know!
