For Mother’s Day I bought my mom some of Lush’s Dream Cream (she has some eczema that has been bothering her and I heard this cream really helps). When the package came it had a little sample bar of their Reincarnate solid shampoo, enough to use for a couple of washes! I was excited to try it out because I have never used a solid shampoo before (I’m a fan of suds, so if it doesn’t suds well I’m usually not a fan). Also, after being sick for a few days and not brushing my hair or taking care of it in any sort of way, it had become dry and brittle and nothing seemed to be helping it. According to the packaging, it contains henna to give dark hair a nice shine, Rhassoul mud to soothe your scalp, and ceder powder to condition as it cleans. On top of all that, it’s 100% vegan!
I will say, I was a bit skeptical on how well a solid shampoo would work. I thought it would be hard to use, and not enough product would get to my scalp on my medium long hair. Boy was I wrong! If you first wet your hair, then the bar, and wipe the bar across your scalp 3-5 times, you can actually work up a medium lather. Even though it wasn’t as sudsy as I like, it felt like it really got to my roots and cleaned my hair. It has a very unique smell, almost like figs or prunes, but it isn’t strong enough to irritate your olfactories. It left my hair feeling healthier, shiny, and clean. The only thing I would suggest is to not use it as your daily shampoo, but rather when you want to boost your hair’s richness – because it leaves a deposit color you may want a shampoo that solely cleans as well. Overall though I really enjoyed it and will be purchasing the normal size version soon (only $7.95)!
*For dark hair only. Make sure to store it in a dry place when you are done using it*
Are you a fan of Lush? What is your favorite product? Bonus: do you have any suggestions to help eczema? Let me know!

I really didn’t think I would like it, but was pleasantly surprised! And it’s a pretty good price so worthwhile to try

I used to live a few blocks from a Lush but never stopped in! I’ve only heard good things. Vegan doesn’t concern me really but great ingredients (not chemicals) is important. Plus that shampoo bar looks just plain FUN.
I love the idea of a henna deposit color – I wonder if it smells a bit like henna paste, which I love.

That could be what I’m smelling! It is a musky, fruity scent. Lush is usually hit or miss, some of the products are AMAZING, while some are so-so. Since they make them fresh it could depend on the batch as well.

One of my clients is a manager at LUSH and she got me hooked on the bath balls. So amazing! I’ve never tried their shampoos, although anything with henna in it makes me nervous. Henna coats the hair and the build up can prevent effective color services, as well as other chemical procedures.
I’d love to hear what your mom thinks of the cream. And definitely try the bath balls!

I just discovered there is one closer to where I live too! Before I had to drive two hours to go inside an actual store. Woohoo!
