I first saw Carey Mulligan in Pride and Prejudice and knew that she was talented (actually, I loved all the sisters in this remake). There is something about her that is not traditionally beautiful but catches my eye and keeps growing on me. From her sweet pixie cut to her innocent looking face, I’ve become a fan. I was sad to see her not win anything at the SAG awards for An Education (I love Sandra Bullock, but honestly I was surprised she won over all the others), but her career has really just begun. Carey is yet another lady whose style sense is as refined as her acting. Today I want to show you how to get her laid back trench look for less:

London Fog trench, $59.99, Purchase Here; Forever21 zipper detailed blouse, $19.80, Purchase Here; Urban Outfitter’s trouser pant, $39.99, Purchase Here; Wanted ballet flat, $18.72, Purchase Here; Lucker’s canvas bag, $32.00, Purchase Here; Anthropologie contour posts, $24.00, Purchase Here.

I love the simplicity and elegance of this look. Trenches are definitely on my radar, and I love how the earrings bring a bit of color to it all. Keep an eye out for Carey’s future projects, including the possible role as Eliza Doolittle. Enjoy!
