Singing the blues

Shauna has become a favorite flikr poster of mine. When I saw her post this outfit recently, I had to share it with you all. What is so striking about this look is her vibrant blue Lark and Wolff dress (side note: did you know there are a plethora of different shades of blue with the most bizarre names? I was trying to find this particular color – I think it’s called Duke blue – and found this wikipedia article). This color really stands out in a crowd and is a great shade of blue for most people.

I really love the cut of this dress as well. It hits at a great point, a few inches above the knee, and the sleeves are adorable. The scooped, boat neck top is totally sweet. She pairs sheer black tights over opaque purple ones to give it a beautifully deep hue – what a great idea! I’m also in love with her pointed-toe pumps (these are the best version in my opinion – I hate anything too pointy).

I love this – Shauna takes a Christmas decoration and transforms it into a chic hair accessory.

Overall, the proportions (love those long legs!) and colors in this outfit are really successful and make her look amazing. Definitely a look I recommend most people to try. Enjoy!
