For today’ post I wanted to feature another etsy seller and cute thrifter, Tess from *EDIT* Tessaboo.typepad.com.

Tess
“sweater- trade on etsy; tights- hand me down from sis; scarf- gift from sis; dress, belt, and shoes- thrifted”

There’s a lot of amazingness going on in this outfit that we can take as inspiration for layering our own pieces. First, Tess already is a girl after my own heart with her color coordination. I love this strawberry reddish/pink color paired with green. Something that I’ve learned with color combos is if it occurs in nature, then it’s a pretty safe mix. Secondly, the floral print on her dress is sweet, but toned down by the solid pieces she pairs it with. When wearing prints, avoid mixing for the most part. There are exceptions to every rule, but err on caution. Finally, I love the way she cinches together her dress and scarf to create a bit of a waist. While her cardigan still adds volume over the dress, it all comes together nicely with this detail.

I love feautring successful thrift finds to show that you can be trendy and green and fashionable all at the same time. Enjoy!
