In less than a month, Jean-Paul Gaultier will join a slew of big time designers trading in large price tags for affordable ones by contributing a collection to Target’s Designer Collaborations. Gaultier is an amazing French haute couture designer who is known for his extremely quirky and offbeat looks (Madonna’s cone bra anyone?). He has also become an inspiration to many designers who have never had formal training. Take a look at the pieces that will be available March 7th in 250 Target stores nationwide and online:
What are your thoughts on the collection? Would you purchase any of these pieces? Personally my favorites are the trench coat, the moto jacket (iffy about the cropped length though), the striped and red flower print dress, and the striped shirt dress. Not sure how I feel about the pseudo tattoo shirt and leggings. Enjoy!

I have been looking for a good trench for a while and that one seems pretty amazing. I just wouldn’t have any clue how to style it! I also like that moto jacket.

I agree, and I love the stripes – they give it an almost military feel. Trenches look good with most any outfit – think straight legged jeans, skirts, dresses, etc. You can wear heels, flats (unless the trench hit’s below your knee, then I recommend something with a heel), or boots.

Leah, I was going to do it this week but it looks like it’ll be next week, but look forward to a post on different outfits to wear with a trench
Hope it helps!
