This week I’m away at Ad:Tech, a huge convention that focuses on the world of internet marketing (sounds nerdy, but it’s actually really fun to attend and the parties are amazing!). Jennifer, from Red Sole Diary, is helping me out today with a guest post all about the booming military trend. Check it out!

I am so happy to be visiting here from Red Sole Diary, today. Military inspired clothing is a big trend for the summer. It’s easy to take the pieces from day to night. Today, we are going to take J. Crew’s twill bomber jacket {$128} and show you how to style it for both the day and evening.

Classic white shorts are a must in any girl’s closet for the summertime. Check out Volcom’s Frochickie shorts as a perfect summer addition {$42}. Nothing says summertime more than stripes. The Gap’s rib stripe tank {$13} adds the perfect nautical touch to this outfit. I love statement jewelry. Don’t be afraid to add dressy, bold jewelry to your daytime look. Check out ASOS’ statement jeweled pendant {$34} to add a fun dimension to your outfit. I love wedges for the summer and as they are a great shoe to have in your closet. A neutral color will get a lot of use for summertime as it can be paired with many colors. Check out Rosegold’s cara cork wedges {$168} in the sand color. Not only will they give you extra height, the neutral color will make your legs look longer. Complete the look with the vintage military inspired bomber jacket and you have a great daytime look.

To start your evening look, check out Splendid’s racer back dress in black {$57}. A little black dress is a staple item every girl needs to have in her closet. For evening, I like to layer a lot of jewelry to dress up my outfits. Check out Forever 21’s baubled metal {$8} and majesty bracelets {$7}. J. Crew’s crystal devote necklace {$100} is a perfect mix of both edge and delicateness. The stud rhinestone connector ring {$4} from Forever 21 is the perfect alternative to the classic cocktail ring. ASOS’ Turin suede shoeboot {$127} is the perfect shoe for this outfit. No evening outfit would be complete without a clutch. I love this Sondra Roberts pleated box clutch {$88} as it completes the outfit.
Thanks for having me here today, had a great time!
