Sorry ladies, I don’t watch Gossip Girls. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against the show. I just tend to watch little TV, and when I do it’s usually Bravo competition shows, investigative series, or TLC realities. I haven’t been immune to the craze of Gossip Girls fashion influence though, and that’s why this weeks “Featured Celeb” is the one and only Blair Waldorf. I chose her Isabella Tonchi dress look in particular because it contains a few of my favorite trends right now: tribal print, cutout heels, and big chunky cuffs.

This is a great warm weather outfit than can easily translate into winter by adding opaque tights and fitted coat. I love the pop of orange red and pink nail polish with green – it adds a hint of tropical flare. A simple, yet elegant look. Enjoy!

This is a great dress for less! I’m loving her style. I haven’t watched Gossip Girls much either, but I think I might start if just for the fashion inspiration.

Like the show, love the fashion, but Blair is my least fave by far where clothes are concerned. I prefer Vanessa, Serena, Jenny.

she looks great, as do the looks you pulled together! I usually drool whenever I see GG photos, though I don’t watch the show, either.
I’m not sure how I feel about “tribal print,” it makes me think of “tribal tattoos” which doesn’t have a great ring ;]
I like a lot of what I’m seeing in stores though!

I adore the Gossip Girl book series, but I have only seen a few episodes of the show. I have a love/hate relationship with tribal print – sometimes I’m obsessed, other times I can’t stand it. :/

I am not a fan adjectives like “tribal” and “ethnic”. They evoke these stereotypical National Geographic-style images of African/Southeast Asian women in head-wraps, dashikis, neck rings etc… I don’t know, not to say I don’t love the prints and patterns these terms are used to describe – I definitely do, but for me the language just feels racist/ignorant on a pretty basic level.
In other news I’m obsessed with GG, especially Blair; she’s already starred in two posts on my bloggy, haha.

Although I don’t watch the show, I think from what I’ve read that overall I just like her character the best.
