If you couldn’t tell, I’m on an Alexander Wang fix (that’s what she said?). So this week’s dress for less is all about his all American spring pieces. In particular, I love this stripe shirt + knee high sock look.
How to get this look for less:
Abercrombie Elsie shirt, $19.90; What’s more all-American than Abercrombie?
Forever21 denim short, $19.90; I chose these shorts because they have similar side pockets as the Alexander Wang version, and I love the red piping.
Forever21 Parlor Lace shorts, $19.90; I chose this pair of shorts because of its texture. Ultimately I prefer the previous pair because I think the black takes away from the aesthetic that the Wang version conveys.
SockDreams.com MP cuff knee highs, $12; I love the cuff detail on these smokey grey socks.
Kenneth Cole Unlisted oxfords, $39.99 eBay; YesStyle.com brown oxfords, $69.95; I absolutely love these Kenneth Cole oxfords – the cutout makes me fall in love. If you prefer a more traditional version, these YesStyle’s are very pretty.
Do the sight of shorts make you shiver? Here’s a “cooler” version of this look:
Urban Outfitters BDG PE Cardigan, $32.00; I love the vibrant stripes on this cardi, and the buttons are adorably Dr. Seuss-esque.
Urban Outfitters BDG slim straight jean, $39.99; another great trend for spring 2010 that you can find in my Guide to Spring 2010 eBook!
Urban Outfitters Deena and Ozzy oxford, $58.00.
What do you think of this look? Are you a fan of the sporty, all-American trend we’re seeing this season? Stripes or polka dots? Let me know!
