I think that for non-glasses-wearers, wearing frames is the same as wearing sunglasses. I might even do it if I didn’t HAVE to wear any frames. The sensation of wearing glasses because you need them to see is completely different than wearing glasses for fun. Ever notice how smudges on sunglasses are no big deal but when your actual glasses get the tiniest bit of dust on them it drives you crazy and messes with your vision?

I was the same way when it came to avoiding glasses. Classmates at my high school thought I was mean because it appeared I was always glaring at people. In fact, I was just squinting to see who the hell they were. It took me a few years of glasses to move up to contacts, but I’ve found contacts to be fairly affordable.

If I could afford Lasik, I’d do it in a HEARTBEAT. Second only to shaving, way too much of my life is wasted messing with cleaning glasses and taking contacts in and out. The worst is wanting to take a mid-day nap when wearing contacts. You can either take them out (pain), or deal with the dryness when you wake up if you sleep in them (literal pain).

Haha, I loved your story! I was the same way in elementary school. I could hardly see a thing out of my left eye, so I would look at the TV sideways. I always cheated on my eye-exams at school. Both my parents wear glasses, so they thought it was weird that I didn’t. I finally got classes sometime in middle school and I used to hate them. At some point I realized there were some cute options, and I ended up getting black square framed ones (like the ones you are wearing) and they became part of my signature look.

Now I wear a pair of pink frame-less glasses and I love them

Those look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G on you I have a horrible habit of losing glasses, which is why I’ve stuck to contacts for so many years. (It can be fun to play with new contact colors though!) It’s nice to see that you found a supercute pair for cheap – will check them out.
