A Creature of Habit

A week or so ago I took one of those personality tests that help you understand your behavior a bit more. I (quite expectantly) was told I am a melancholic – that is, someone who is task orientated and introverted. We tend to be artistic, detail-orientated, structured, and compassionate. I won’t bore you by going into detail of what a melancholics faults are… In light of this, I decided to structure my blog a little better. Fridays will now be devoted to Friday Favorites – I will focus on posting some of my favorite things that may or may not necessarily fall into the fashion and green living category. Friday’s you can look forward to music, beauty products, food, art, websites, etc. suggestions that are totally 100% my own taste (not backed by $$ unlike some of our bigger counterparts). To start us off, I would like to present Aveda’s Smooth Infusion Glossing Straightener:

Normally when I buy hair products, I’m always a little disappointed. I can never recreate that amazing feel my hair gets after going to the salon. Even other Aveda products tend to fall short (except their shampoos and conditioners, LOVE). That is definitely not the case with this glossing straightener. Whether I wear it straight or curly, my hair always ends up feeling silky soft and ULTRA shiny. What I do is apply a little to my wet hair and brush it through with a comb. Don’t put on too much – I learned the hard way and ended up with some greasy locks. Not pretty. Then I blow dry my hair with a round brush and from there on can either style it curly or straight. Not only does it gloss and smooth, it also provides a nice texture which makes any styling easier and stay put. Don’t let the $21 price tag scare you – this tube will most likely last me at least half a year. Enjoy!
