About
If you’ve come to this page, it’s probably because you want to know a little more about the girl behind Bachman’s Sparrow. There’s really so much and so little I could say. I would say fashion has always been somewhat of an interest to me. Growing up I changed my aesthetic frequently - I had a hard time figuring out who I was, and I think my outfits reflected this. I would say only in the last four years have I really come into my own (which makes sense because that’s when I was free from high school, ha!). I’d define my style as clean and easy, with a touch of retro and a dash of alternative. Besides fashion I love to read, write, watch movies, listen to music; basically anything that can transport you to different places and expose you to different emotions. I have shy tendencies in the “real world,” but I love comments and interacting with my readers. I believe in Jesus and I’m pretty active in church. I’m married (since September 2009), reside in the bay area, and have a dog. I’d say my life is both average and amazing all at the same time.
Professionally, I am a CAL Berkeley alumni with a background in Communications and Media Studies. I am working on developing my blog into a source for women (and eventually men!) to discover new ways on how to look and feel their best. I believe that everyone deserves to feel good about the way they and their home surroundings appear. I also place an emphasis on Eco-friendly alternatives, both for the planet and our own bodies’ sake. Eventually I would like to open an online boutique filled with products that are no only great for the earth, but also look amazing.
A quick explanation of my site’s name:
Reverend Bachman was a naturalist in the late 1800s. In particular, he loved birds. The Bachman Warbler and Bachman Sparrow are both named after this Lutheran minister, and are now either certainly or quite nearly extinct due to environment destruction. I chose the sparrow for my name because of its resilience and often flourishing adaptability to survive in the development of man-made structures. He is an inspiration for us to discover ways to adapt to our current environmental condition in a positive and beautiful way.
